I've recently been convicted of my patience (or lack thereof) and I found myself calling out to God to remove any distraction from my life that keeps me from him. And in my praying, something came clearly to me.
Impatience keeps you looking and looking keeps you distracted. If you can focus on God and trust in him that you will be without any doubt or impatient with God's work, then you look for other ways to fill what you think needs to be done on your term.
We all know what happens when we do things on our own. We begin to stumble and fall without God. But the question is how do we wait or take time for God to work in our lives?
Think of your life as a house, right now it's your house, and being that it's yours things are a little wonky. For example, your house might be built on a rocky foundation, or the doors and windows are not secured (making it easier for thieves to come into your house). Your drywall is water damage and your wood is rotten. Your house is empty yet filled with so much junk that doesn't benefit you. In simpler terms, your house is a mess.
You noticed the problem and called out to God to help you with your house. But this process takes time. You need to deep clean and remove all of the junk from your life, and you have to break down some rotten walls and broken shelves.
God has to do a full HGTV-style demolition on your house. Let him work.
Now God needs to pull the frames down and jackhammer that crooked foundation to start rebuilding.
And the rebuilding process takes time it's easier to break down the broken than it is to rebuild something from scratch. And that's exactly what he's doing. God is starting from scratch with new materials, strong sturdy wood, and expensive and high-quality exterior and interior materials. God is building something bigger, better, and more beautiful than your previous house. Let him work.
He's going to give you more than what you asked for and all he asked is that you give him a little time. Because you can't rush high-quality/God-quality rebuilding.
Once he is done, he will give you the key to the house he built and say "it's all yours, respect it, honor it, love it and take care of it as I did for you"
Brethren, your house is your life
Let God Work!
